The Boundaries of Creativity
There exists no limit to creativity. This is what I used to hear in University and even elsewhere. This statement is not true; creativity is defined by the society you live in. It is hard to bring about something new and modern, especially in Interior Design into the society I am facing at the moment.
When I was in my senior year about to graduate, I knew what I wanted to specialize. I knew so well that I would love to design the offices. You ask me why offices? I chose to design offices because we spend so much time of our day(when we are awake) in our offices. Would it hurt to make the offices human? No right? As per my understanding and research, a well designed space has a positive effect on the productivity of the people or else you just stop the productivity of the people who are working there. Being “here” I just realize, its only the upper cream of the industry who we are serving in reality. Nobody reallly cares about the people working below him. Sadly, I don’t blame the way the company work, it is the society to blame, especially where I am the worthless majority….
The highcross Mall in leicester. The little subtle details make this place a delicious feast for the eyes.
I love this? Guess what? This is a prison in leicester, UK
Well any person with a good eye should be able to see how badly the facade has been designed. The windows are awefully placed. Don’t know who is to blame, the architect, the person who commissioned it or the contractor? But anyways it’s ugly.
It has been a while since I have written anything, been busy traveling, working and watching Anime! Anime are so much fun and there is so much to choose from.
Anyways I have been thinking about what to study for a long time, I think for me life without studying something makes me feel very stagnant. I have been thinking of specializing as a 3d visualiser, interior designer or interior designer in hospitality. My mind is still confused as to what to do, but I am not pushing myself too hard, lets just go with the flow. I am trying to take it easy and look for options that allow me to flourish and nurture myself as a young designer that I am.
Masters or what?
It is that time of my life (which is quite rare,) when I am confused if I need to do something or not. I have always had a game plan regarding my career. I knew I had to finish Highschool, then enter college and then graduate and get a job. Now that I have a job, I am extremely confused on what my next step should be. I want to be a great designer, someone who designs with the needs of the people in her mind and yet still create an amazingly sensuous design solution.
What is setting my brain in a confused mode is the question of whether or not to get a Masters Degree. I have read that in many places regardless of their bachelors or masters, what counts most is their experience in the field. Even if you get a masters, the job that you might be eyeing for could not still be yours. So what to do???? As a brown person might say, get the degree for a safety net. But this is confusing. And if I do intend to get a masters then where?
This is all perhaps things that a new graduate faces, at least I got a job :)

FASHION: Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2013
The thousands of hours that went into some of these Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2013 looks can be seen loud and clear. One word sums up this collection: immaculate.
Once again, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Picciolo referenced the Renaissance and religious dress in their collection, which included a number of heavy, almost tapestry like fabrics, long capes and ornate embroidery.
More great stuff from Valentino.
2 months in the field as an Interior Designer
Its been over a month now. (Exactly 10 days left for my 2 months to be over.) Being a designer who wishes to establish herself in the design field seems like a long long journey, especially in Interior Design or perhaps even in architecture. It is all collaboration of your designs, the clients taste and also the regional contractors expertise. No one tells that to you when you are in school. There is perhaps more which I have not discovered yet but truly I am living the moment, which is not always achievable by many fresh graduates.
